Safe Harbour Statement

We Talk About Deals Not Yet Done And Markets Still Forming. This Is How To Read That.

Last Updated — 7 October 2026

01

Why This Statement Exists

GoDotly invents names and acquires the domains they need. Describing that work honestly means talking about things that have not happened yet — a holder who has not agreed to sell, a price a buyer has not paid, a timeline that depends on a registrar, a market we think is forming around a new extension.

This statement explains how to read that kind of material wherever it appears: on this website, in our insights and reports, in proposals and valuations, on stage, in interviews, and in anything else we publish.

Read it alongside our Terms Of Use and Privacy Policy. Where a signed engagement, a Dotlier listing, the Digital Asset Enquiry Terms or a transaction document say something different, that document governs — not this page.

02

What Counts As Forward-Looking

A forward-looking statement is anything that is not a historical fact. In our material it usually announces itself with words like anticipate, aim, believe, could, estimate, expect, forecast, intend, may, plan, project, seek, should, target, will or would — but the absence of those words does not make a statement historical.

The following are forward-looking, and are not promises:

  • Expectations about whether a holder will sell a domain, at what price, and how long the approach will take.
  • Typical timelines for name invention, screening, acquisition, transfer and migration.
  • Valuations, price guidance and estimates of what a domain or a name is worth, or what it would clear at.
  • Views on how an extension, a category or the domain aftermarket will develop, such as the calls we make in our insights.
  • Expectations about how a name will perform — how it will be remembered, spelled, said or received in a new market, or whether a trade mark application for it will succeed.
  • Expectations about the Dotlier programme: buyer demand, outbound response, and whether a listed name will sell.
  • Plans for our own services and platforms, including Dotly.ai and the Dotlier panel, and when they will be available.

They reflect our view on the date they were made, formed on the information we had then and on assumptions we thought reasonable at the time.

Risks And Uncertainties

Forward-looking statements involve known and unknown risks. Actual outcomes may differ materially — and often do. Factors that could cause that difference include, without limitation:

AreaWhat could go differently
Holders and negotiationsA holder does not respond, will not sell, raises the price, takes longer than expected, or sells to someone else first.
The domain marketAftermarket prices, liquidity and comparable sales move. Registry and registrar policy, renewal pricing and the launch of new extensions change what a name is worth.
Trade marks and disputesA name that screens clean still meets an objection, an opposition or a domain name dispute. Trade mark offices and dispute panels, not we, decide the outcome.
Language and marketsMeanings and pronunciations shift, and a name is received differently in a market it was not tested in.
Dotlier salesBuyer demand, response to outbound and price expectations differ from what we expected. A listed name sells for less than its asking price, later, or not at all.
Transfers and timelinesEscrow, registrar handovers, transfer locks and the responsiveness of the other party set the pace, and any of them can slow a deal.
Technology and dataDotly.ai, the models and data sources it relies on, and registrar and registry systems change in cost, capability, availability or terms.
Legal and regulatoryNew or changed law, tax treatment, data protection rules, registry policy, or the outcome of a dispute.
External eventsGeopolitical disruption, public health events, cyber incidents and other matters outside our control.

This list is not exhaustive. New risks emerge, and we cannot predict them all or assess how each might affect an outcome.

04

Not An Offer, Not Advice

Nothing in our forward-looking material is an offer to sell or buy a domain, a name or any other asset. A domain changes hands only under the agreement and the escrow it runs through, and on terms its owner accepts.

Nothing in it is investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, or a recommendation to acquire, hold or dispose of anything. It does not account for your objectives, circumstances or needs. Take your own advice and do your own diligence.

05

Valuations, Price Guidance And Estimates

Putting a number on a domain or a name is an exercise in judgement, not measurement. Our valuations, the price guidance in our screening and the figures in our insights carry the following qualifications:

  • A valuation is an opinion of value on a stated date, formed from comparable transfers and the data available then, for a stated purpose. Change any of those and the number changes.
  • It is not an offer to transact, a guarantee of a sale price, or a statement that a holder or a buyer exists at that level.
  • It depends on inputs — comparable sales, asking prices, registration data, search and category data — that may be incomplete, lagging or revised.
  • Market figures, such as registration counts and sales totals, describe activity observed on the date they were read. They do not forecast future activity.
  • Values may move sharply, and can go down. A domain may not be realisable at any published value.

06

Third-Party And Market Data

Some of the data, research and market figures we cite come from third parties — registries, registrars, marketplaces, industry publications and public sources.

We select sources we consider reliable, but we have not independently verified all of them, and we do not warrant their accuracy or completeness. Third-party projections are that party's view, not ours, and are subject to the same uncertainty as our own.

07

Past Results And Case Studies

Where we describe names we have invented, domains we have acquired, listings we have sold or outcomes we have reached, those are historical and specific to their circumstances.

Past results are not a guide to future results. A price, a timeline or an outcome achieved for one client or domain owner says nothing about what will be achieved for another. Case studies are selected to illustrate an approach, not as a representative sample of all our work, and some are anonymised at the client's request.

Naming a company, partner or platform in our material does not imply their endorsement of it, or that the relationship described is current unless we say so.

08

No Duty To Update

Forward-looking statements speak only as of the date they were made. A page on this site, a report you downloaded, or a recording of a talk may contain statements that were reasonable then and are no longer accurate.

Except where the law requires it, we undertake no obligation to update or revise any forward-looking statement — whether because of new information, changed circumstances, or anything else. Do not treat continued availability of a page or document as confirmation that its forward-looking content still holds.

09

Reliance

You should not place undue reliance on forward-looking statements. To the fullest extent the law allows, GoDotly, its group companies and their directors, employees, partners and agents accept no liability for any loss arising from reliance on forward-looking material, or for any difference between an expected and an actual outcome.

This statement does not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

If you need to know the date, assumptions or basis behind a specific forward-looking statement, valuation or market figure, ask us — we would rather answer than have the number read the wrong way.
