Terms Of Use

The Rules This Site Runs On — What You May Do With It, And What We Do And Do Not Promise.

Last Updated — 7 October 2026

01

Agreement To These Terms

These terms govern your use of godotly.com and everything published on it. By browsing the site, submitting a form or corresponding with us through it, you accept them.

If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.

We may revise these terms. The version on this page, dated at the top, is the one that applies. Continuing to use the site after a revision means you accept the revised terms.

02

Who You Are Dealing With

GoDotly is a brand naming and domain acquisition practice, operated from Gurugram, India. Formerly Domaincool, we have been naming companies since 2011. We invent names, screen them, acquire the domains they need and build the identity around them, and through the Dotlier programme we find buyers for brandable domains their owners list with us. This website describes that work, and it is where briefs, listings, report requests and domain enquiries reach us.

Some of what the site leads to runs under its own terms. A client engagement runs under the proposal or agreement we sign for it. A Dotlier listing runs under the programme's rules, including the ten-day hold. An enquiry about a domain we represent runs under the Digital Asset Enquiry Terms. Where one of those applies, it governs, not this page.

03

Who May Use The Site

You may use this site if you are 18 or older and legally capable of entering a binding agreement, and if the law of your country permits you to.

If you use the site for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it, and 'you' means both you and that organisation.

04

Permitted Use

You may read, print and share the pages of this site for your own business or personal reference, with attribution and without modification.

You may not:

  • Copy, republish, sell, licence or commercially exploit any part of the site without our written permission.
  • Scrape, harvest, mine or systematically extract content, whether by automated means or by hand, or use the site's content to train a machine learning model.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source of any part of the site.
  • Interfere with the site's operation, probe or test its security, bypass an access control or the security check on our forms, or introduce malicious code.
  • Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
  • Use the site to send unsolicited commercial messages, or to collect contact details for that purpose.
  • Use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that infringes the rights of anyone else.

We may suspend or block access where we reasonably believe any of the above is happening.

05

Intellectual Property

The site and everything in it — text, design, layout, graphics, photography, video, diagrams, methods, code, and the selection and arrangement of all of it — is owned by GoDotly or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright, trade mark and other intellectual property law.

'GoDotly', its logo and the names of our programmes are our trade marks. Nothing on this site grants you a licence to use them. Third-party names and marks that appear on the site belong to their owners and are used for identification only.

Names and domains that appear on this site — in examples, case studies, insights and blog posts — are shown for illustration. Showing them gives you no right to use them, and some of them belong to our clients.

The methods we publish — including our four-stage method, our screening checks and our insight reports — are described here for explanation. Describing them publicly does not put them in the public domain.

If you believe material on this site infringes your rights, tell us through our contact page, with the material, the right you claim and the basis for the claim. We will investigate and, where the claim is made out, remove it.

06

Briefs, Listings, Enquiries And Applications

When you send us a naming brief, a domain listing, a report request, an enquiry about a domain or a job application — through a form on this site or by email — the following applies.

What you promise

  • The information is accurate, and you are entitled to share it.
  • A domain you list with us is yours, or you are authorised to sell it, and the asking price and notes you give are yours to set.
  • An enquiry you make about a domain is one you initiated yourself.
  • Nothing you send infringes anyone's intellectual property, confidence or privacy, and it contains no malicious code and nothing unlawful or defamatory.

What we do with it

We use what you send to evaluate it and to respond to you, and, where we go on to work together, for that work. We handle personal data in it as described in our Privacy Policy.

Confidentiality

We treat a brief, its working titles and its domain targets as confidential from the moment they reach us, and we will sign a non-disclosure agreement on request. When we approach a domain holder for you, we do it without your name attached.

Confidentiality does not extend to information that is already public, that we already held, or that we develop independently. We invent names for many clients from the same language, so a name or domain you mention may already be in our work, on our candidate lists or listed with us by its owner.

Your names stay yours

Names, working titles and domain targets you send us remain yours, and we do not take any right in them by receiving them. Feedback you send about this site or our work, unprompted, we may use freely, without obligation to you.

No obligation

Submitting anything through this site does not oblige us to respond, to take on the work, to accept a domain into the Dotlier programme, to carry an enquiry to a domain's owner, or to enter any agreement. We list brandable names, and we decline inventory we do not think we can place.

07

Research, Not Advice

Everything on this site is published for general information about what GoDotly does.

  • Screening results — pronunciation, spelling, meaning across languages, trade mark exposure and availability — are research to inform your decision. They are not legal advice, and they are not trade mark clearance. Take advice from your own counsel before you adopt a name.
  • Valuations, price guidance and market figures are our opinion, formed from comparable transfers and the data available at the time. They are not appraisals, guarantees or realisable prices.
  • Nothing here is investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, and you should not act on it without advice that accounts for your circumstances.

Case studies, customer stories and figures from past engagements are historical. They are not a forecast, and they are not a representation about any future result. See our Safe Harbour Statement for how forward-looking material on this site should be read.

08

Domain Names, Listings And Acquisitions

We acquire domains for clients, list brandable domains for their owners, and represent domains whose owners forward them to us.

  • A name shown on this site is not necessarily available. Availability, price and registration status change constantly.
  • A domain that forwards to GoDotly, or that we represent, is not offered for sale by that fact. Its owner decides whether to sell, and on what terms.
  • We cannot guarantee that a holder will sell, at what price, or by when. Our fee arrangements for an acquisition are set out in the agreement for that engagement.
  • A transaction in a domain name completes only under the agreement it runs through, through escrow, and subject to registry and registrar rules and any applicable transfer lock.
  • We give no assurance that a name is free of third-party rights. Trade mark clearance is yours to do before you acquire or use one.

09

Links And Third-Party Services

The site links to other websites and services — among them PlumJob for our open roles, our profiles on X and LinkedIn, and the registries, marketplaces and publications we cite as sources. A domain transaction may also run through an escrow provider or registrar we do not operate.

We provide those links for convenience. We do not control those sites, do not endorse everything on them, and are not responsible for their content, availability, terms or privacy practices. Following a link is at your own risk, and what happens there is between you and the operator.

10

Availability Of The Site

We aim to keep the site available, but we do not promise it will be. It may be unavailable during maintenance, or because of a fault, an attack, or something outside our control.

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site, or the whole of it, at any time and without notice, and we are not liable to you for doing so.

11

Disclaimer Of Warranties

The site and its content are provided 'as is' and 'as available'.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, conditions and representations, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy or uninterrupted availability.

We take care with what we publish, but we do not warrant that the content is complete, current or free of error, or that the site is free of viruses or other harmful components. You are responsible for your own virus protection.

12

Limitation Of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, GoDotly, its group companies, directors, employees, partners and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, data or anticipated savings, arising out of or in connection with your use of this site — whether the claim is in contract, tort, statute or otherwise, and whether or not we were told such loss was possible.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the site is limited to ₹10,000 (ten thousand Indian Rupees).

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold GoDotly, its group companies and their officers, employees and agents harmless against any claim, liability, loss, damage, cost or expense — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site, a domain you list with us that you were not entitled to list, or your infringement of the rights of anyone else.

14

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect through this site, why, and what rights you have over it. It forms part of these terms, and using the site means you have read it.

15

Suspension And Termination

We may restrict, suspend or terminate your access to the site at any time, without notice, where we reasonably believe you have breached these terms or where we need to protect the site, our business or anyone else.

The clauses that by their nature should survive — intellectual property, submissions, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law — survive termination.

16

Governing Law And Jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of them or out of your use of the site, are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law rules.

The courts at Gurugram, Haryana, India have exclusive jurisdiction, and you submit to it. Where the law of your country gives you rights as a consumer that cannot be contracted out of, this clause does not take them away.

17

General

  • Entire agreement — these terms, with the Privacy Policy, the Safe Harbour Statement and, for an enquiry about a domain we represent, the Digital Asset Enquiry Terms, are the whole agreement between us about the site.
  • Severability — if a clause is held unenforceable, the rest stands and the clause is read down to the minimum extent needed.
  • No waiver — if we do not enforce a term, that is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment — you may not assign these terms; we may, to a group company or in connection with a reorganisation.
  • No partnership — nothing here creates a partnership, joint venture, agency or employment relationship between us.
  • Force majeure — neither party is liable for a failure caused by something genuinely outside its reasonable control.

Questions about these terms go through our contact page.

These terms are a general statement of the basis on which this website is made available and are not legal advice. Where the agreement for a specific engagement, Dotlier listing or domain transaction says something different, that agreement takes precedence over this page.
